Former Digital Enterprise Society and PLM World Executive to Advance Wnet’s Mission to Create a Stronger and More Diverse Industry by Empowering and Investing in Women

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – June 24, 2020 – The Women’s Network in Electronic Transactions (Wnet), the premier professional organization dedicated to the advancement of women in payments, is pleased to announce that Wendy Holliday, M.Ed., CAE, will serve as the organization’s first chief executive officer, effective immediately. In her new role, Holliday will support and expand upon Wnet’s mission to create more leadership positions for talented women and their male advocates across the payments industry.

“Wnet is pleased to name Wendy, a proven leader in the industry, as the organization’s first-ever CEO,” said Wnet President Joan Herbig. “As Wnet enters into the next phase of its growth with new global partnerships and virtual events such as PayTechWomenLive, it’s important for us to have a leader like Wendy. Her background and experience make her ideally suited to lead Wnet’s efforts to drive world-class national and regional programming designed to foster gender inclusivity within the financial services and fintech industries.”

A seasoned association professional, Holliday has spent more than 20 years in non-profit management, bringing a strategic and data-driven approach to association management, the inclusion of volunteers, membership marketing, and increasing membership and attendance at leadership events. PayTechWomenLive, a new virtual event on July 21st at 4:00 p.m, Eastern, will be a chance to meet Holliday and network with her and other global payment leaders from Wnet and the payments industry.

“I am very grateful to the Wnet board of directors for their confidence in me,” said Holliday. “Wnet is well-positioned to address the payments industry’s leadership needs. I look forward to working with Wnet’s leaders and member community to broaden diversity and inclusivity in both our membership and the industry we represent. I encourage our rising stars, senior executives and male advocates to join Wnet and participate in PayTechWomenLive, so we can focus on the incredible impact that networking, mentoring and leadership growth opportunities have on women throughout the payments industry.”

Enabling women in their professional lives has been a significant theme in Holliday’s career for more than two decades. As Digital Enterprise Society’s Executive Director, formerly PLM World, she has served as a mentor to other women, supporting the first female board members at PLM World and starting a “Women at Work” program as part of the PLM World annual conference.
